i'm happy to be back in xela after a trip to arizona to visit sharena (the woman i've been dating that i mentioned before). we went to the grand canyon (my first time... incredible) and had a real good visit overall.

thursday i played basketball with 3 local friends and 2 guys we met on the court.  we then went to the market to buy produce and pasta and cooked lunch together.  the plan was to play some music (i'm helping two guys learn to dj) but i had to leave for a spanish class.

the music festival last saturday was loads of fun.  i was camped out at the dj stage almost all day, but did catch some live music and dance performances at the other 4 stages.  i feel honored for the invite to spin.

excited about a big music festival this weekend in town.  dj-ing here has been real fun and almost no work.  a friend invited me to play one party
 and then a bunch more invitations followed.

off to cook in my "new" kitchen...

i've been dating a woman (rita) from hungary, who is in guatemala for a fair trade project.  her spanish is better than her english, so we have some difficulties communicating sometimes.  she's only here for four more weeks, and i don't want to do the distance thing, so we're not getting too serious.

the cat that lives in my house gave birth to three li'l kittens last week.  she's been a good mom, which i was a bit concerned about considering she was weened way to early and a friend was telling me about a dog that ate her puppies.  yikes.
