so i was doing some linguistics reading, and it was talking about the arbitrariness of names and stuff like that, and there was this sentence: "Thus, meaning is a social construct."
and i thought of you :)

I was attempting to explain to my father some of the things from soc, but he was just too resistant to it to really understand it (as ruth had warned us people might be)... it was amusing all the same.
