Bold Proclamation #7,106

If you were to make a list of the sexiest bands of all time (musically as opposed to looks), The Doors would have to be in the top 5, right? Maybe even top 3.

Yep. Jim's my hunny bunny. I'd also add Nirvana -- especially "Come As You Are."

Kurt Cobain had a sexy voice, plus he was very very pretty.

I'm of the "Jim Morrison sounds like everybody's dad singing in the shower" persuasion.

Great, now Peace Frog is going to be in my head all night.

As someone once said, Jim Morrison wasn't a singer, he was a crooner.

But the music that band made was incredible.

Without a doubt, top 3. I'm having a hard time thinking of a group above them.

Depends. If you consider the works for which the band is most commonly known, then yeah, absolutely. If you consider the band's body of work as a whole, a lot of their music feels kind of flat in this day and age.

I was never a fan, though, so that's probably not an informed opinion or anything.

Compared ot Nickelback, Buckcherry, Lady Gaga, 50 Cent, Jordin Sparks, and their peers? The Doors feel flat?

No, but that's a very small amount of music, most of which is not particularly good, that's come out in the thirty plus years since The Doors were popular. I mean, I don't even know who Lady Gaga and Jordin Sparks ARE, but while Buckcherry is the aural equivalent of syphilis, bad music has always and will always exist.

Compared, on the other hand, to acts like Muse, Vast, Pink Floyd, Prince, God Lives Underwater, BT, Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many, many others, The Doors isn't particularly exciting three decades after the fact. THAT'S where I was going with my observation.
