Racism rarely exists without substantial numbers of the oppressed race. I would suspect that folks of color are voting for Obama with record turnout. Consider that about 12% of US residents are black, and that voter turnout is about 60%. If the voter turnout for blacks spikes, their effective voice could be greatly amplified.

Also, note that these results represent Democrats (and unaffiliated). Not to say that all racists are Republican, but I suspect the proportions are different.

At the same time, I certainly agree that racism has lessened, even in some surprising places. Not lessened enough of course.

Oh, black voters definitely were being courted by both Dems here.

But part of Clinton's thing is that she's supposed to appeal to black voters. And sadly black people are often just as racist or worse towards other blacks as whites are.

Obama's the type of guy that the Oreo slur was invented for, and the kind of guy who plays well in San Francisco is generally not the kind of guy who wins voters in Onslow county, black or white. So I think the trouncing of Clinton in that area is still significant.

NC is about 22% black, and per CNN, 90% of the black registered voters voted for Obama. Oreo or not, he's still black, with a lot of support from the black leaders. Some interesting breakdowns:
