Well, that was educational. I now know what's it like to have stitches, and broken ribs, and partial amnesia. I have also seen a shoe with most of a foot in it and many other charming artifacts of fanaticism.

Are your tea parties always like this, Jobi?

Good my lord, what happened? Can I bring you some ibuprofen or something?

Awww, that's nice of you! But I think you'd need a time machine to get here. Anyway, they gave me some painkillers at the clinic, but the stronger ones make you groggy so I'm not taking them, or not now, anyway.

Just please, please, please don't tell my mother. Not that you spend hours chatting with her every day, but...

How are you feeling?
(Why shouldn't I tell her? Other than because it would be an inexcusable breach of trust.)

I'm ok. It's nice to not be locked up. Other than the fact that it hurts to breathe, and I can't sleep, and my wallet's gone, and I can't get that damn foot out of my head, and--never mind.

(Because she'll freak out, of course!)

God only knows. You never met her, did you?

Give me her number. I'm going to call her right now.

In all good faith I meant to leave you alone, but I'm starting to think you WANT to be persecuted. Are you that lonely?
