Happy New Year!
I have to post something on the first day of the year. We've had a pretty mellow and actually pretty great Christmas, and celebrated the new year with too much Champagne. That seems to hit my head first now, after six hours of sleep. I have been on night shifts since Boxing day, and tonight is first free night since then, so it might just be six ( Read more... ) -
Last night in Lund for a while..
These four days just disappeared, and I hardly did anything. I managed to go to Malmö yesterday and had a lovely dinner with friends, but otherwise I've pretty much just stayed home and cleaned my kitchen ( Read more... ) -
Back in Lund!!
I made it down here yesterday, just before the blizzard struck. Crazy winter weather, and this is the view from my balcony:
It's not really that bad, just annoying that the roads are bad, and especially the pavements.

Cold december night watch
Dad sleeps, for now, and I'm waiting for the first morning team to arrive and help dad change side in bed, and check the diapers etc. We never know exactly when they show up, entirely depends on who's working, and their other patients, but they are supposed to come some time between 5 and 6 in the morning. First advent, still no snow..
Somehow Gothenburg missed the snow chaos that seems to be all over Sweden. It's cold though, six degrees below zero and I really need some warmer winter cloths. The boots I got last year are more suitable for forest hiking than cold city roads, but I haven't found and good ones yet ( Read more... ) -

Night watch in November..
One of those nights when dad never seems to settle down. He frets in bed, constantly moving, trying to find a comfortable position.. And of course that means picking his nose and almost pulling out his dawned feeding tube once every five minute... Look, I remembered I have a dreamwidth account!
Long time no see! As of yesterday, l have now reached the ripe old age of 35. It seems kind of momentous for some reason. I was 25 when I first started livejournaling, 10 years in February next year. Dad did it again...
What a great day... Woke up to the news that dad had done it again. That bloody feeding tube! Kind of amazed that he hasn't pulled it out more often. Last time it happened before this Sunday was on the 10th of April, so the statistics aren't too bad. But TWICE in one week.. Oh joy ( Read more... ) -
Back at the Urgency
Well that was fun. Dad pulled out the feeding tube again. Not on my watch though. I had just managed to fall asleep and had a long complicated dream when suddenly my dear sister opened the door to the bedroom and shaked me awake with the great news. Such fun.
