Saffron cake with no saffron

I have been in a baking mood this week.
Made my usual almost-challah during the weekend and then I had a craving for cinnamon buns tonight. Tried out a new recipe that turned out really well. Half of them have grated apple in the cinnamon-almond paste-butter filling as well! The challah was fine, but I really need to try the cool 6-strand weave next time. Checking in from Lund - 4½ months since last update!
I have missed you dear dreamwith- and livejournalers. I hate the fact that I hardly write anything now. I miss the interactive way of posting on livejournal, and the sense of community, yet I find myself more and more seldom reading my flist. Why? Happy Fastlagstisdag!
Time for another celebratory cake picture. Today we eat semlas - the buns filled with whipped cream and almond paste. And we have far too many, since the grocery delivery service messed up and sent a double order. Yes, too many even for us.. Will have to give away some tomorrow. 10 years on Livejournal!!
Seems like quite a few people on my flist are celebrating the 10-years lj-versary these last couple of months. I am very happy to have been around for so long, and to have met you all. So grateful for having had you here to read and write with. 10 years pass and what have we done? Where did all that time go? Kind of wonderful to be able to check ( Read more... )
