New babies are a delight! It is a great time to sit down and gloat over their sweetness and enjoy holding them in your arms while they still weigh so little ;)

Once again, your writing is so beautiful and evocative.

Thanks! :o) However I do remember being surprised at all the fuss when I had Kahlil and was adjusting to being a parent. I was thinking, "I suppose you have forgotten about the sleepless nights and the crying and the dirty nappies.." Then I walked past newborns once he'd grown up and I was just the same and despite the difficulties (especially first time around) newborns evoke such incredible magic. You enjoy it more the second, third time around cos of the familarity you have with newborns but also you have the awareness of just how small this time is. It goes so fast!
