Sobek is also the god of the four elements and is considered to control the sea. I thought it was Sobek.
I am also thinking that the characters have some correlation to Jacob and Esau from the Bible.
I think that Jacob has the ability to save people from death, but if he does it, it makes them immortal. Which would explain Richard and would also explain why Richard didn't question Locke being back-- he just assumed Jacob saved him. I am curious to see if anyone survives the bomb-- I have a feeling Sawyer will (that he might have really died when he was a child and Jacob brought him back). I think something might be up with Christian, too, because I am starting to think he might have saved Sarah (Jack's ex). I don't know! I know I'm missing a thread here, because didn't Jacob bring Locke back from the dead in that scene? Like, pretty obviously? So then people he brings back from the dead don't live forever, since new!locke was pretty obviously the other dude.
OKAY SO I am not actually all caught up on Lost but I'm trying to get there, but my dad's theory is that THE ISLAND IS MT. OLYMPUS.
This totally doesn't make any sense to me, I liked his first theory which was that the island is Atlantis. Obviously all of my dad's theories = mythology, though, which might be a good route?
The Atlantis theory is a pretty big one.. I don't know how it would be relevant at this point though. I would also love if it was Mt. Olympus but that' sjust because I love greek gods xD. I love dieties in general, they are always up 2 somethin.
See, I didn't even know because I'm only halfway through the 4th season so I kind of avoid discussions for the spoilers. D: It's driving me nuts, I'm trying to catch up since cool people like you are always talking about ittt.
Lol. My dad doesn't have the patience to actually watch, but he wanders in from time to time and talks all smugly about how he KNOWS the island is an alien spaceship you just wait and see.
