Good Fur Day
A day off! I spent yesterday laying around, reclining, napping. How sublime to nap. Sometimes when I am working I have dreams. Here a couple weekends ago I dreamed it was autumn. I've sure found it difficult trying to get the klahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to stop citing numbers far above the actual population figures provided by the research done at OSU and provided to both legislators and Wildlife Officials. Cosacs! No, Kosaky
This last weekend I stirred a bit. Invited down to Texas to join in a battle by the Kosaky against the Moskovites. Staying busy and perhaps have persaded the Wildlife Department to add language which would protect cubs. It would be good if more people would call and suggest that feeding stations be removed ten days before a hunting season on bears. Wildlife Hearing
There were fifty things on the agenda, the 16th one has to do with bears. I commented saying that they need to define an 'adult bear', that baiting stations need removed 10 days prior to the hunt and expressed the desire that legislation institute a lottery system as they classify bear as game ( Read more... ) -
Update on Bear Hunt and the BTBF position
Our concerns are for the welfare of the bear population, the future of bear hunts for the sportsmen and women, as well as the impact this decision will have other states in the future.

Update of folks who will attend the Wildlife meeting to protect Mothers with cubs
Today I managed to secure two more people to attend the hearings next week for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. I have Muskogee covered thanks to one my friends here on LJ {{{{{{Bear Hug}}}}}. I have Hugo and Lawton and Okmulgee and likely the hearing in Enid, Woodward and perhaps Clinton. What wakes a bear up?
The days of autumn have floated by and winter at present is mild where I am. I've been content with the progress made through the last year. The effects of my efforts have provided sanctuary for 8 former performing bears and have seen 12 orphan bear cubs rehabilitated and now they are in hibernation.
