I've been trying to remember who sang a lot of the music Melva used for Romeo and Juliet. Like the tree/flashlight song. It's really ethereal and feminine and Celtic all at the same time. I think the cover has like four women dressed up like fairies and frolicking in the woods. I've been overcome with the urge to listen to it.

Anyone? Adam?

("They" not being Melva, of course)

I have no clue, I am getting old. I remember what you are talking about, but the actual name of the band/cd is not coming up. Sorry.

God, I still have that CD somewhere . . . I'll give it a listen and google the lyrics.

I think I still have it, anyway. I might have tossed it because it was so depressing.

Update: I think it was Summerisle, by the Mediaeval Baebes. (Album: Undrentide)

You might want to check that.

Also, Paul Giovanni did something from the same folktune (if it's the one I think you're talking about -- and on that girl, there was a man, and from that man, there came a seed, etc, etc, and for that man, there was a grave, and from that grave there grew a treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee) for the Wicker Man soundtrack, if you're curious.

By "You might want to check that," I mean, "Amazon is a fartface and won't let me listen to the sample, so I can't be sure."

Bwah.

AAAAA! That's it! Thank you, thank you, Adam!

I'm getting strange emotional flashbacks to darkness and hitting my leg on platforms every night and flashlights and excitement and all the wonderful things about opening scenes of shows! AAA! Wow.
