Hope everyone is doing well in school. I am trying my best to keep up with translations while juggling my massive university work load. But translating is actually helping me in my Japanese class believe it or not, so I really have to thank Shige for that. :D ( Read more... )

Shigee ♥ He's always so .. deep? :)

"Honestly I don't believe I had any part in his rescue. The real person who was saved was me. The one who wanted to say thank you is me."
That's very true isn't it.. It always makes me so sad when no one stops to help people if they fall or something, yet I also find it hard to go and help a complete stranger ..I wonder why, it shouldn't be a hard thing to offer a helping hand, no matter who it is that needs help :/
Well, whatever the reason is, I'm trying my best to fix this part about myself!

Thanks for the translatons!! ^^

It's unfortunate, but the reason behind that is psychology. If a man trips and falls in the street and there is only one person there, that one person will have the incentive to help him (because nobody else will). But if there are two people, the chances decrease because both of them have the assumption that the other person will help instead of them. If there are 50 people, the chance decreases tenfold, because everyone believes that one of the other 49 will help.

It's really unfortunate that everyone thinks that way. But at least Shige doesn't! Going against the grain in that case seems liberating indeed.

That's true, but sometimes I catch myself sitting, well, in the metro in example, and no one gets up to offer help, yet I keep on waiting as well and then when someone finally does I feel terribly guilty for waiting.. it's really weird.. Though a part of why I don't feel comfortable with helping just anyone might be that for most of the time they're drunken old men (-__-); While, of course, they too, deserve to be helped..

It is! And yeah, I admire Shige for that!

I was a little worried especially since I couldn't make out his magic marker chicken scratch in one article of photoshigenic, but this was surprisingly a lot easier! Maybe the pen makes a difference. :D

Whatever you think about my words and pictures
is free for you to decide.
That's because this is already
Something that belongs to you.
--It's like he's REALLY talking to you personally. I don't know why I felt that way when I read this part.

TYSM for the translations, even though you have a tight schedule. Your work is always appreciated. <3

I loved this part too. It reminded me of those disclaimers artists say, like "I don't care what you think but just buy it anyway" except this is so much nicer. :D
