Five years later...
I forgot that I have an LJ account. So here I am writing about current events in my life. The hardest right now is my father's death. He passed away this year, January 20th at 12:20am. Cause of death: respiratory failure. No, he didn't die of COVID-19 but complications with his abdominal surgery.

I love this job. The silence around me, broken by the clacking sounds of the keyboard. The fact I didn't need to interact too much was an added bonus. Sure at times I end up falling asleep while typing but for the first time in many years I found the work I enjoyed because I can move freely.

I think my mind is somewhere else right now that I am not focused at work or maybe this is plain boredom and apathy. I had experienced so many changes in my life that I hardly recognized myself anymore and wondered what I have become.

failure
Work has kept me busy but I'm also putting it off for quite sometime. So here goes:
I failed in my master's thesis and that meant I'm not going to graduate. Why? Because according to the 2 panel members that failed me I didn't follow their feedback/recommendations. I provided the reasons why I didn't but I guess that didn't help.

rambling on once more
I'm still here, I know I announcd my presence last time then disappeared again thanks to work and other stuff.
I work now as a medical transcriptionist, someone who listens and takes down doctors' ramblings. I find it fascinating listening to these doctors especially if it's a psychiatric evaluation. Sure I end up falling asleep while typing ( ( Read more... ) -
still alive!
A lot has happened since I last logged in LJ so forgive the delayed post.
I didn't march on January as I ended up lagging behind in submitting the written manuscript of my thesis. This coming Saturday, my adviser and I would be speaking with the panel members one by one to finally explain to them about the revisions on my paper.

roadblock
My final defense did not go too well. I had to make some revisions and redo a procedure. I could kill my panel members right now. So just to shut them up, I decided to do what they said and repeated the ashing procedure. Went well. Submitted my data to my adviser.
Then his laptop got reformatted and I ended up doing the data adjustment on my own. ( Read more... ) -
final leg
Preparing for my final defense which would be scheduled on May 15. It’s still sinking in that I’m on my last defense. This is a crucial time for me because this is where 5 people will decide whether I graduate or not (I am past caring about graduating with honors).
