My feet are swollen up like sausages. Not sure what's wrong, but like every cause of feet swelling except pregnancy is something I've been guilty of lately...ie eating salty foods, carbs, sitting too long (hellllooo I'm trying to finish up my masters paper w/o sausage feet!), being fat, not exercising and hormonal birth control ( Read more... ) -

I finally watched the first installment of the We Shall Remain series showing on PBS. I really enjoyed the show, both for the interesting history, compelling personal stories (esp. Wow, I am an idiot.
So, in writing my paper's findings chapter. I realize that I was completely confused about what actually is the self-determination period in Indian policy. Maybe Margaret Szasz is just wrong. I for some reason thought it didn't start until the mid 60's....but Szasz (which is really hard to type) puts it in 1934 with the Indian Reorganization Act ( Read more... ) -

My teeth hurt. I am not a far of this high pressure water pik thing at the dentist. Scraping was better and less intense. I have three small cavities that need to be filled. So, I wrote a lit review and found one article that compared historically black colleges and universities (HBCU's) and American Indian institutions or tribal colleges (TCU's). Also, my losing streak on the summer shoes has been broken. I have two new pairs of sandals, one from nine west and one is kenneth cole that are super cute. Both are brown though, and I'm still in search of some everyday black sandals to replace my clarks from last summer, which are okay, but have a 'leak' in the sole that makes a whooshing sound ( Read more... ) -

That when I saw this photo while cruising my lj (it was on obama_daily) on saturday, I lost it and started bawling. So, at this big summit, there's our President, a black man, with Evo Morales (who makes me cry sometimes anyway, just because), the Indigenous President of Boliva.
