Considering expatriotism...
So the dollar has dropped, from 1 USD = 2.3 BR Reais to 1 USD = 1.7 Reais, which means all of my savings have dropped dramatically in value. Everything down there is going to be more expensive, since my money won't be worth as much. My three week trip in January just went from costing $850 to $1000, and it looks like the dollar's gonna keep on ( Read more... ) -

I'm getting frantic as the days go by closer and closer to my trip... It's nuts. I'm so excited/anxious/worried/thrilled/scared/impatient that I'm having trouble just functioning like a normal person. It's my birthday... Each year the novelty fades just a little more. I don't know why birthdays make me a little sad; perhaps it's because I'm reminded of the time when it was the BEST day of the year, a day I looked forward to for months, when I woke up and felt different, that somehow a special birthday eve night's sleep made me more grown up. 20 DAYS!!!!
Less than three weeks from now I'll be chillin (or sweating, probably) in the tropics... I got 4 vaccines on Tuesday, 2 in each arm... Ouch. For some reason, my left arm is still really sore and a little swollen. The nurse said that Hep A was tough on some people, so that might explain it. Maybe typhoid and Hepatitis A are just too much for one arm ( Read more... ) -

He got me an ipod touch for my birthday... Woah. It's incredible! I feel so high tech and loved. I lovelovelove him. But I can't believe this, I can't compete... What the hell am I going to get him for Christmas now??? hahahahaha -

I just returned from the most romantic trip ever... My ideas of romance have also evolved quite a bit as well. Bruno and I decided to take a quick trip up the coast to my uncle Bob's cabin in Big Sur, right above highway one on that stretch of road that cuts right between the mountains and the sea. My parents know this man from church whose been taking photography classes, and he asked if I would like to have some glamour shots done for free. My mom jumped at the idea and volunteered me for a photo shoot last friday. So now I've been getting emails of these pictures, most of which I don't like.
