I was reading this story from CNN about protests of the Orangeman marches and I noticed they had used "prize" to mean "pry apart" which I found unusual and interesting.

"Because" and "Since"
I've heard people complain about those who use the word "since" when they mean "because." According to the CJR, "since" and "because" can be used interchangeably the exception being if "since" might be confused for indicating the passage of time.
