It's so different to not be with my family on Thanksgiving. This year, I went with one of my American friend's family to a fancy hotel, and had gourmet food with a group of spectacular people. I love it here, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it gets hard. People here are homophobic. And there is really no denying it either. I tried for a bit, just because intolerance of any sort makes me REALLY uncomfortable, but I can't anymore. So I've been here a week now, and everything has been amazing so far. Well, not everything.
