Dublin!

There are some things you can't put into words, kids. Dublin was silly and expensive and fun and I only have about half the pictures that were taken with me in mind, since my camera is a battery-sucker and I ran out and didn't want to buy more when I had some here at the castle ( Read more... )

EEEP! E.T. freaked me out...Which is normal for me, since I've been terrified of E.T. since I was a wee lass. LOL

No, dude, that shit was scary. He was a freaky-ass alien and I still don't like him too much. But the figurine was supposed to be actual size and that impressed me, and so, a photo.

you and giraffes!! sooo cute!! :) you look very happy.

we learned about them today in evolution...apparently, when food is scarce, they actually don't often eat at the height of their um neck reach, but at a height that they actually have to bend over. apparently, the primary use of their head and neck is for fighting!? craziness!

According to the sign next to the pen, the males eat the food at the highest part and the females eat from like, end-of-neck-height so that hey have to bend down to eat. They thus both eliminate competition between themselves and other animals for food, but also amongst themselves...

Raddest animal ever? Oh yes, I think so.

That IS crazy (about the head/neck for fighting). I'll have to remember to tell my grandmother that. She told me once that she's always felt sorry for the giraffe because she thought their long necks made them vulnerable to attack.

As we were going into the park, some kids were saying that the Lion was dead and that they wanted their money back. He was definitely alive when we saw them, but we spent the whole time before that excited to see if he was really dead or not, and if anyone else had noticed by time we got there.

It's kinda funny. I was just wondering today if you still did that thing where you paint your pinky nail a different color than the rest and then pic #15 answers the question for me. Crazy world we're living in.

Cosmic, JW. Absolutely cosmic.

I can't help it, either. I think I'll always paint them that way.
