While I've stopped going to the gym as the end of the quarter approached (I really needed that extra 1.5 hours to get everything done!) I did get in touch with a cousin who's a nutritionist and started logging my food again. This morning I'm down to 176! Ok, so this week's average is a less impressive 177.3 but that's a whole 2 pounds better then ( Read more... )

Good for you! IF I ever wanted to be a personal fitness coach I think I would start with that approach, and keeping tabs on diet always seems to help. Most women don't seem to loose weight exercising. They seem to do better dieting (whatever technique works best. I just like calorie counting) then adding an exercise routine. I've just been doodling with running (the cool running, couch potato to 5k plan), and I try to walk Mickle every day, but at her speed I won't burn calories or improve fitness.

I'm so glad you are still doing something! Yea!

You would make an awesome personal fitness coach. Weird and interesting yes, but awesome.

I was finding I had petered out with my last food log. I was just not making any progress weight wise. Switching to a exercise focus helped for a bit and then I hit a platue there too. I think the key might be to keep switching between the two focuses for me. I don't know, we'll see. My near goal is 170 but ideally I would love to be down to 160 (I haven't been down to 160 since I was 13 or something).

IF (again with the capital letters) I had more time, I would probably post regularly about exercise and diet. My approach was going to be the completely shallow goal of loosing weight to look hot and sexy-- screw all this healthy crap! I just have never found the healthy-thing especially motivating. Yes! I want to put in all this hard work so I can be wholesome-- bleah! I want to look good! And if the world thinks I'm shallow: to damn bad! But with that goal in mind I wanted to go about getting there in a healthy way. I would love get down to 140-145 (that's how much I weighed in high school). So, I'm not sure I would be an "awesome" fitness coach. Shallow and superficial: yes! But it was nice of you to say that.
