What provisions should people make for pets that survive them? Do you have anything in your will about who should take your pets after you are dead? If a family member died without making provisions, would you feel obligated to find the pet a home or would you take it to a shelter?

Hypothetical person changed their mind and doesn't want their dog or cat any more. Assume it's some shitty reason that you don't approve of.

What is a better course of action: euthing, or surrendering the pet to an already-overcrowded no-kill? Assume that they got the animal from a BYB who won't take it back.
