So.... I took another "snow" day. Ahem... I feel stupid. I did go into work 1/2 hour early. When I left my house it was raining but thinking of sleeting. When I hit 205 (maybe 15 minutes later) that rain had turned into a full blown snow storm and was coming down and sticking. I have another snow day and I don't really know what to do with myself. I don't have a lot of items at work that are pressing but I'm not sure how to make the most of my free day. Growing up where it actually snowed, we never got snow days. Snow hours, yes. Days off when it was snowing but not because it was snowing, yes.

I've had more snow days in Portland in my adult life than in all my days going to school. I love that. Tomorrow I will be making more cookies. And not be working. Heheheheh..... snow day!

I just read a book called the Fortune Cookie Chronicles by Jennifer 8 Lee. It was really really well written and fascinating. I love food histories so the aspect of the book delving into who invented the fortune cookie and many other Chinese American dishes was great. Happy Halloween. I'm a scrooge this year for Halloween. I have no costume, no plans, no candy and plan on leaving the porch light off (I do not want to have another year where I give out 2 pieces of candy to 2 kids and have a huge ass bag of sugar crap I don't want to and really can't eat).
