Until Sunday, I hated printmaking for about a week. I attempted to bring screens for the damn invitations 6, yes let's count that, 6 times. My new art obsession lately is making jewelry. Specifically making pins and hair jewelry (for the wedding). I've been into the concept and have actually made jewelry before but in recent years told myself I have no time for that stuff. I caved recently and bought a whole slew of fun things. Yesterday was the first Memorial Day that I saw as more than just another day off. I was listening to NPR and tearing paper for the invitations at the studio and the guest speakers on Fresh Air were casualty assistance officer, men who tell families about their fallen children in war and assist them with the grieving as much as they can. I'm hanging out with Dosha cat post surgery. We took her in and had the polyps in her ears removed. Expensive but I think it'll be worth it. She's recovering well and soon will be bouncing off the walls of her new prison- er, room confinement. Her painkiller drugs make her more affectionate that usual which is cute. Eating in restaurants is becoming increasingly hard for me. I don't know if my body is getting more sensitive or I'm just trying to take care of myself more and noticing how poor I feel if I eat out too much in a short span of time.
