This weekend was seriously kick-ass. Getting dumped back into the workweek is not so kick-ass. Actually, it's kicking my ass.

So, although Kev and I ended up nuking our plans for Finale, we still managed to have some semblence of a Valentine's Day. Falling on one's back, in the middle of a snowy, slushy street is never pleasant. Getting dirty slush all up ins one's jeans is pretty much the suckiest way to start a work day. My ass is cold and wet, and there's not a damn thing I can do. Bah! -
to hell with all of this
I hate snow. I especially hate snow on Valentine's Day, making me have to cancel the reservations I'd had for the past month for a dessert extravaganza at Finale. I hate feeling tired, worn-out, and completely helpless to do the right thing for once in my life. I hate feeling frustrated about things I have absolutely no control over. The fire alarm was going off in the Harvard T station this morning. No one seemed particularly concerned. This is a jaded world.

No one in the world ever gets what they want and that is beautiful
At the risk of sounding incredibly selfish, I sometimes feel like people don't necessarily realize how much I give up for them, and how much I wish it were acknowledged sometimes. At the same time, I think I might not always realize or acknowledge other peoples' sacrifices that affect me.

As I'm putting on my coat this morning, Kevin looks at me and says, "Hey, ya know, looks like your coat is fitting you more loosely than before." Wooo! Healthy eating is working (and also, makes me feel less like total crap all the time). Next step, finding time to get my arse to the gym, sign up, etc. -
skiing frustrations
Every time I'm sitting at work and at home, wishing for snow and cold, I'm excited about going skiing. Problem is, when I actually get to Wachusett, I end up pushing myself into a situation I'm not comfortable with, and it ends up ruining mine (and Kevin's) enjoyment for skiing ( Read more... )
