EF has made it out of ICU. I'm on the short list of people allowed to visit, so I should do so, sometime this week.

I got my tickets for some shows in the 2009-2010 Dance Celebration series.

Okay, the tow truck showed up early. The driver thought it was a failed battery, more than some nastily expensive electrical problem. I got to Pep Boys about 7 minutes before they closed, got a new battery, and the car appears to behave normally.

But still!

And EF is back unconcious, with kidney failure to boot. He wasn't awake long.
Dang. 2009 seems determined to crush me.

The older gent across the street came over to chat. Apparently, Pink was hit sometime before he got back to his home, say... no later than 5pm. A nice woman had stopped to move the body out of the street. With that timeline, my cat probably died on impact. I was asleep, inside. *sigh ( Read more... )

My friend is awake! Not in great shape, but conscious and cognizant this morning.

One of my good friends from work is in a coma. He experienced cardiac arrest after a routine tonsillectomy, was down for 10 minutes and revived, and comatose since Saturday. Don't know what the outcome will be, but I am sad and worried. And hypersensitive to mortality, these days.

Router's busted. Feh.

$7 of split chicken breasts and 15 minutes of butchery yielded 4 good-sized skinned/deboned breasts, 1/2# of stirfry, and bones for a big pot of stock. Unfortunately, that's probably the most exciting thing I did all day.
