So I was in Japan for the last several days, attending the recent events at Tenshi no Sato. I have to say, it was an absolutely fabulous trip. I ate some amazing food. Say what you will about Starbucks - I've ranted about them often enough myself - but the Starbucks outlets in my local Target store and even better, the Kroger, have barristas every bit as knowledgeable as those in a 'real' Starbucks outlet, and who provide MUCH friendlier service then the snooty bastids employed by Starbucks proper ( Read more... )

In a very good way, actually. Now for a long time I thought I was running a kitchen table business, created to support a very expensive hobby. I've had glimmers of external validation, but most of my satisfaction has come from within, which is as I have always felt it should be. So I've been cutting back on my coffee consumption again. Yeah, I know, I've been in and out of rehab several times on this addiction. I was even completely clean for about six months once.
