It's been a while since I've actually sat down to update this but here i go -

so as some of you know a friend of mine and I have given up a certain action for Lent.
(I do Lent for the experience, anyone can do it.)
And that got me thinking today, what exactly is the need for humans to experience this action?
and heres my answer -

i find it kind of ironic that a post that started off about orgasms went back to feeling god's love.

If god didn't want us to masturbate, have sex without love, or any of those other sex type things, why did he create life forms with a surplus of pleasure recepting nerve endings in their sexual reproductive organs? To maintain self restraint? God also gave us instincts, he gave life forms instincts, one more dominant one which is to procriate or make babies so to keep the species going. That is only if you believe in god though. I would say pleasure is something humans should cherish, and share, it's nothing to be ashamed of, unless you get your pleasure by hurting others.

I wouldn't say he didn't want us to masturbate, cuz that has proven healthy in scientific research. It's rather that He doesn't want us to look at each other purely as bodies, as all physical. Its that taking a step back, looking at the bigger picture. A person is human, right, but then theres something more to it, they have a past, a future, one that another person can never fully understand ever. There are higher pleasures than just the physical ones.

we have to resist masturbation because it's a temptation, that doesn't make sense if it's healthy to do, so aha! i have you and alex at a crossroads. i get alex's view that there is something more than just the human the body, but you aren't contacting anyone else but yourself when you play by yourself :], and of course there are higher pleasures, but they take longer than oh say a half hour.
