Personal thoughts on the passage of the Gay Marriage bill in the State of New York.
When I grew up, I didn't really know what a gay person was. Most of the time, I didn't hear gay people referred to in anything other than a derogatory term because many years ago, "f*****" was actually considered acceptable.
I wasn't very aware of gay people in my youth and through schooling learned that marriage was with a man and woman.

My grandfather...
For those of you who didn't already see or hear the news, my grandfather is on his deathbed.
He's a fighter, but the combination of diabetes, Alzheimer's, and now pneumonia have finally gotten to him.

It's been seven years since my great grandmother passed away.
I think about that today because it was a rough period. I'd come home from school after I attempted to kill myself and never returned to that school.
