Can anyone explain the fascination with reading rape stories?

I mean, I can deal with stories where Justin has an abusive boyfriend and Brian "rescues" him, yada yada yada.  But to read a graphic rape scene or ridiculous amounts of violence?  Not for me.

Anyone else?

My mom was diagnosed last week with the early stages of Alzheimer's.  It wasn't a surprise to me or my two brothers, as we have seen her having more memory problems in the past 18 months or so.  Everything was made worse when she fell in July and broke her shoulder.  The replacement surgery and anesthesia played a big roll in her increasing memory ( Read more... )
