When I came out of the shower the other day I thought I saw a small animla run into the hall cupboard.  It moved very fast and sort of slinky like.  It was one of those moments, when you think did I really see that or did I imagine it.  Thing is I did not have my contact lenses in hence the doubt.

Haha I was going to say something very similar to Mary. I miss the Wellington skinks, when we lived in the bush Orpheus used to catch them all the time and bring them inside, I was constantly having to rescue them.

I hadn't seen skinks since I was a girl on my Nana's farm. We moved here and have seen them about the place quite often.
Cute little buggers.

I've also noticed a lot of falcons around over the past year. They seem to be more common these days and are a lovely site.

I had the pleasure of showing Amanda's friend Rebecca one of our special local creepy crawlies, A weta, that had found its way to the top of the stairs outside our front door. We also have a local praying mantis that hangs outside our door. I can only imagine that they feast on ants or moths as there is no other fauna around.

I think wetas are one of the crazy cretaures that can go without water for months, cool.

I was at the zoo the other day replaicng light bulbs in the kiwi house. I actually saw a kiwi, which was better than the keeper guy who was there because he hadn't seen it in 18 months! Also in the kiwi house is a ruru. They feed it mice, damn good use of pesky mice if you ask me.

I assumed it was a man one because it was wearing brown. Old mans's colours, dead giveaway. The only girl I have ever known to wear brown is living in the U.K. now.

Actually I did notice it was looking rather large in the tummy area, I think you might be right.
