Lately I have learned, hands down, that after the ability to write, the second most important thing for any journalist’s toolbox is developing good relationships with people and sources. Those relationships definitely take time to build, and a proof that sources can trust you with information and trust you to get it right.

Well, life is constantly changing around here.

Jeff started at WNDU on Wednesday and is working pretty close to full time, which is great, and he will probably work a little bit at Ace on the side for a little extra money since he will be using a lot more gas now....an hour and 15 minutes to work and an hour and 15 minutes back. I am feeling really tired and unmotivated today. Really no reason why, I think perhaps the seemingly constant work and the inability to escape Winamac, the place where work consumes me at home as well, is wearing me out. Ugh. I put so much effort into the Fair Edition of the paper this year, checked all my facts and really tried hard to get it perfect, or somewhere close to it. I triple checked my captions for errors and really wanted it to be good ( Read more... )

So Jeff is being considered for a job in Sarasota, Florida and I am so excited. We will find out more on Tuesday...he was narrowed down to the top choices out of hundreds of applicants to be a videographer/production assistant. Even if he doesn't get it, it's very encouraging to know he was chosen out of so many. The lady is very impressed with him ( Read more... )

I am in a really really bad mood today. The worst I've had in a really long time. No clue why. Can't seem to shake it.
