It's been a long time, as usual...and it'll be awhile before I get around to posting anything meaningful.

I've been asked to do a top ten list for www.calitreview.com.

TOP TEN MOVIES OF THE DECADE (2000-2009) SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE!

Royal Tenenbaums is on my narrowed list, as are Eternal Sunshine, 28 Days Later, and the Dark Knight. I love Donnie Darko and Grindhouse, and really liked Wet Hot American Summer...this is going to be tough. Out of those, I'm almost certain The Dark Knight is going on the list. I need to rewatch Eternal Sunshine. Blehhhh, I've still got awhile to keep narrowing it down, but there have been a lot of pretty good ones this decade.

Not sure what *type* of Top 10 this is (best overall, most influential, etc), but here are some random ideas. I tried to mostly make them earlier in the decade since most people tend to better recall and rate higher more recent movies (Dark Knight):

The Departed
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Almost Famous
Crash

Lord of the Rings
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
Pan's Labyrinth
Star Trek
Southland Tales
Battle Royale
American Beauty
V for Vendetta
Million Dollar Baby

And about a bajillion I'm forgetting right now. Good luck picking 10 though. ;-)

Ye, most of the above are up for consideration...O Brother, Battle Royale, and Pan's Labyrinth occupying some of the top spaces in the brain at the moment. And yeah, American Beauty is one of my favorite movies...ever. But doesn't fit in the time frame. Sigh.
