Chapter 2

Chloe had never felt her cheeks burn this bad in her whole life. She felt embarrassed, hurt, and now a little ashamed that she let herself get caught up in something that she knew wasn't going to happen. She gulped and felt everyone's beady eyes on them.

She didn't think she could feel any worse than she was but she was wrong as she heard Oliver "It's nothing." She knew she should just follow along but it still stung nontheless. "Yeah he's right...it's nothing."

They all seemed unconvinced but it seemed like they were giving in. "If anyone is going to have a shot at gorgeous it should be me....if you are handing out kisses wanna give me one?"

Chloe rolled her eyes. "Bart really?" She asked with her hands on her hips.

Clark hit Bart on the back of the head "Stop." He shot Bart a warning glare and looked back at Chloe and Oliver. "Um so uh we just came to tell you that we are heading out for patrol."

They all nodded as they saw the way Clark was glaring at them.

Chloe looked over at Clark and smiled softly "Thank you." She mouthed them to him and stalked off to the desk.

She had never felt more like a hooker then she did now. All she needed was for Oliver to give her money and she would be set. She felt dirty...but somehow she didn't regret it.

They all left which Chloe was thankful for. She looked up to see that Oliver hadn't left but was just standing in the same spot that he had been before.

She sighed and stood up, walking over to him.

"Why are you still here? I thought you would wanna leave?"

He looked over at her and seemed to be shocked that she was talking.

"Uh, well I thought I'd stay...I mean we need to talk about what happened."

She nodded but felt her body warm up at the thought of him still wanting to talk.

"Okay...well what part did you wanna talk about? The part where you kissed me, or the part where you pushed me away?"

He felt her tense up and he gulped, he knew she was angry but he had to let her know that they couldn't just become a couple.

"Chloe...you know that I am not that guy, I can't be in a relationship...it's just not who I am." He said hoping that it didn't sound as harsh as it had.

Chloe shook her head. "You are such a guy!" He raised an eyebrow and looked at her a bit taken back.

"Chloe..." He was about to protest but she cut him off.

"No! YOU kissed me remember? Not the other way around. Who says I want a relationship? Can't I just like you? Is it so hard for you to get it in that thick head of yours that maybe, just maybe a girl is interested...AND it's not becausae you have money, or you are charming...but because of your personality?" She looked at him and for the first time realized that she was shaking. She didn't let him respond but continued her rant.

"You are so stubborn and so set in your 'single' ways that you can't even realize that. Maybe I want a chance to show you that I can be here for you...and that I actually wanna get to know you better." She let out a breath she hadn't even known she had been holding and looked at him. She crossed her arms in a pissed off way.

He stared at her and for the first time he didn't know what to say to her. "I-I....you don't get it Chloe....it's not you. You are...beautiful, great, sexy, funny, smart....everything a guy would be crazy to miss, but it's me. Don't you get it? I just I can't do the whole 'girlfriend...boyfriend' thing. I just want us to be friends, and yes I know I kissed you...."

She looked at him and rolled her eyes "What you regret kissing me is that what you are telling me? You have a way of picking a girl off her feet and pulling the carpet right from under her all in one way don't you?" She shook her head "You know what? I'm glad you showed your true colors before it was too late...."

He groaned "Chloe please stop...I like you okay? I want to be friends, I don't want to lose you....please don't give me an ultimatimum."

She licked her lips and furrowed her brow.

"I'm not Oliver, we were never together, there is no need to give ultimatums." She shrugged. "You wanna go back to being friends? That's fine." She said knowing that it was better if she calmed down, but all she wanted to do was cry. They were having their first fight and they weren't even a couple.

He saw the hurt in her eyes and the sad expression on her face and all he wanted to do was kiss her. He hated himself for feeling this way, he knew they were supposed to be just friends. He sighed and nodded.

"So we are good?"

She nodded "Sorry for getting all in your face." she said before leaving to get back to work.

He watched as she left and ran his hands through his spiky hair. He sighed and walked over to get his gear, grabbing it and walking out the door but turning once again to look at Chloe. She seemed to be already back on work, so he walked out.

Chloe used her peripheral and watched as he left, it was so weird and scary how instantly as he had left she burst into crying. She couldn't stop herself from putting her hands in her face and the tears from pouring down. Why they hell did she have to feel this way about someone that didn't want to be with anyone?

----

It had been a few weeks since the so called 'fight' had gone on between them. No one had said anything about what they saw, and they also didn't say anything when they saw how bad the tension was over the next few days. But Chloe was just thankful that Dinah hadn't said anything to anyone when she found Chloe crying that same night.

She had told Dinah that she had just felt like crying from all the stress, but she knew that Dinah had known it was because of Oliver. She had comforted her and sat with her till she had stopped crying.

She was glad that things were somewhat back to normal, but it had been really awkward between her and Oliver and she was glad for days that he was out on patrol or wasn't coming in.

She knew he had chosen to do more patrols then normal and she was thankful for it, because if she saw him she knew it would be hard to 'stay friends'

She hadn't cried since that night and was glad her emotions were back in check.

Chloe wasn't expecting anyone to come in today, most of them were out on patrol or out on a lead. And she had personally made Oliver have a few more items on the list, hoping that would take him a long time.

She heard the doors fly open so hard that she was surprised they hadn't broke right off. Oliver strolled in, holding his arm up and staggered in almost falling down.

"Olvier!" She ran to him so quickly she was surprised she hadn't super-sped to him. "What happened?" She saw the blood all over him and the way his hand just lay in his arms all limp.

He groaned "Oh you know, just your typical psychopath holding a grudge against heroes." She looked him up and down and walked him over to the couch.

"I'll get the first-aid." She ran and came back almost too quickly.

"Is your arm broken?" She looked at how it was just hanging as if it was torn off completely.

"Either that or I just had excruciating pain." She rolled her eyes, only he would make a joke about this situation. It was weird how something like this would make her forget all about what had happened.

"Let me see it." She softly took a hold of his arm but he didn't budge "Ollie do you trust me?"

He looked at her and noticed how close they were, he nodded at her. "With my life."

She felt her cheeks turn red and her butterflies creep up. She smiled and grabbed his arm.

He groaned in pain "Well good news is it's not broken."

He looked at her and then looked down at his arm "What but look at it." He said lifting it and showing her how it was bent practically the other way around. "How can you tell?"

"You can move it Ollie...and it seems to me that I don't need to be a doctor to let you know that it's not broken....you sprained it, and it seems like you probably hit a tendon. I'll get a sling to hold it in place."

She returned a moment later with water and a sling as promised. "Drink these pills, they should help with the pain." She gave him the pills and water and pulled his arm gently towards her, placing it in the sling.

She realized how close they were and the way he let her grab him without effort. She felt the way his muscles relaxed at her touch and the way he leaned in closer to her. She gulped feeling her insides burn.

"Um I think your arm is good, but let me take a look at those cuts." She bent down so they were now level to level.

He stared at her as she cleaned him up, he couldn't help but stare at her lips and just want to kiss them. He licked his lips hoping it wasn't noticeable.

Chloe continued wiping away his cuts. She felt his breath on her and felt the way her goosebumps poked through in every inch of her body.

"Does that feel good?" She said hoping it wasn't hurting him. He nodded and continued to stare.

He sighed "Thank you..." she smiled and nodded.

She was about to get up, but she felt stuck to her spot, she locked eyes with him and just stared. She didn't know what was rooting her to that spot but somehow she just couldn't move.

She leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. She was expecting him to move, to push her away like she had before.

But he didn't, he just sat there and let her kiss him.

She leaned in even more and kissed him a little deeper, it was so hard to stop, and she knew it was going to have to take a lot of will power to stop. She felt the way he breathed on her and the way he was showing he wanted her to kiss him.

But she knew she had to, it wasn't fair to her nor him if she continued. She broke the kiss and opened her eyes to find him still with his eyes closed.

He softly opened them and stared at her, it looked as if he was confused. And if Chloe didn't know any better she would say he didn't want her to stop.

It wasn't until a little bit that she realized he had his good hand on her neck and had been running his thumb alongside her cheek. She backed up even more so his hands weren't able to touch her and stood up.

He stared at her as she got up. "Um I should probably get back to work, and you should probably get home and rest up."

She felt the way he looked at her and followed her as she went back to her desk. "What was that?" He asked standing up and staring at her.

"Nothing...a kiss I'm sure you'll forget by tomorrow." She said a little harsher than she had wanted.

He sighed and nodded. He knew it was best not to push his luck. He hadn't realized how much he had missed that kiss but he knew she was right. He especially didn't want to get into another fight.

He turned to leave but turned around to face her before he walked out. "Thank you for cleaning me up..you really didn't have to....thanks"

She looked up at him and saw the sullen expression and adorable puppy dog expression he had on his face. She nodded but felt her throat constrict and knew she couldn't say anything because if she opened her mouth she might start crying again.

With one final look he left. She felt a tear at the tip of her eye but pushed it back. She couldn't cry about him like that anymore....but how the hell was she going to stop thinking about him, all she wanted was to be with Oliver Queen.
