GB: Death and Resurrection
As refugees, we have the chance to rebuild our worlds, however, space is incredibly dangerous and… whatever. This is not the actual reason why we cannot die permanently.
Yes, you heard me right. Refugees on the Thor can’t and won’t die permanently because we are resurrected. When we first arrive on the Thor and are forced to fill out all of that paperwork, along the way we sign a contract with our Captains. Whenever we die, they will bring us back using their own money, as long later on we pay a toll in exchange - what the toll is, is currently unknown.
The winkle forms, Section J-26 subsection R, Paragraphs 11 through 17, states:
"The undersigned herein grants permission for any crew member, current or future, to determine whether the undersigned is in need of resuscitation; and that in cases wherein the undersigned in unable to give consent, a crew member may order for the undersigned to be resuscitated, and a necessary cost charged to the undersigned following successful resuscitation."
In order to revoke these permissions please fill form is D-134, fuchsia. They are to be performed in quadruplicate and require both your signature and that of a witness on each form. They take approximately one month to process.
The reason why they bother resurrecting us is still unknown. Captains have claimed to be kindness from their part and because we do not have the money to pay for that.
It’s of importance to note that when a refugee becomes a citizen, he will no longer be resurrected because all refugees are being safed to reach home safe and sound; if they become citizens, they have a new home. So if you do become a citizen, try to be rich. This is a reason why citizens dislike Refugees so much.
Resurrections are prepared by Cryo-Organic Repair and Preparation for Scientific Examination Labs. You may actually contact these labs and they will explain you (actually, they won’t. They’ll just tell you it’s a machine) how they do this.
Because we are resurrected, there is no reason why the Vogons should ever take the names off the Refugee list.
This would also explain - yet it’s simply an assumption - why such a lenient punishment to those who have killed. Serious offenders such murderers and the like, are locked up for at least a week or two, and leaning strongly towards the latter for repeat offenders.
