Took Amy to the vet (the ophthalmologist) again today. Her poor little eye is so swollen. I feel terrible for her, but the vet said she doesn't think it causes her pain and that she thinks she can still see out of it. We still don't know what's causing it. I'm so sad. Bo-bunny, the 3-legged Pit Bull I pulled from Spalding and took to his new home in Oklahoma, died last night. At least he didn't die alone and scared in a gas chamber on a concrete floor. He was able to live the last few months of his life in the country on the edge of a lake, with a loving family. He died in Kim's arms just before ( Read more... )

Yay! As of today, my motorcycle is paid off at last! And I got my truck paid off last month! Now, I'll have all that extra money each month to spend on, well, vet bills....sigh. Still have to get Amy to the rat ophthalmologist.

My boss got fired today. We all saw it coming, but it's still a sad thing. Corporate headquarters turned on him like a pack of jackels. It was pretty ugly. Out of all ten schools in the corporation, I think our campus has had the best teamwork among the managers and at all levels really. For months we've been nervous because my next-door neighbor's house (my next-door neighbor happens to be my sister) has been on the market. We have two Pit Bulls and a Siberian Husky and do dog rescue, so there is often a foster dog here, too.
