This is a horrible story! I am SO sorry you and your sweet dog have had to go through so much. I don't understand what would make someone shoot a dog?

Thanks for posting pictures. I can't believe this happened! Kudos to you for making the effort to take care of him in the best way possible and kudos to him for being such a brave, strong dog. You're a great dad.

This would make me so angry, but I suppose there's no reason in being angry at something you had no control over.

Thanks. Calling me a good doggie dad is a compliment I really appreciate. Sometimes I think I'm failing them (I have five other dogs), but usually I think my dogs have just about the best possible life.

I never said I wasn't extremely angry about it, but that anger kind of got subsumed in caring for Pico.

Are you kidding? Living on 80 acres, where they can run free, where they're fed and taken care of is failing them? I know from your posts you take wonderful care of your dogs. You're not failing them. :)
