It's back to school again...

I was just watching Tommy again. I forgot how beautiful and inspirational that movie is! Aside from the really creepy acid queen part with Tina Turner, which I would hope could scare anybody away from using acid. Despite the fact that he was deaf, dumb, and blind; he was able to do so much! The pinball game itself was metaphorical. It's all flashy ( Read more... )

The Who are a great band. The fact that they even wrote rock operas in itself was quite an achievement. To string a group of songs together into one story, it's not as easy as it looks. Not many other bands did it.

And they didn't even need Youtube to gain a fanbase.

Opera's aren't bad. Those don't generally tour around here though. Lack of appreciation I guess. I'd bet that most people don't even know La Boheme or Carmen, and those are pretty mainstream.

I don't care.

I'm not going.

Listening to crappy music for a whole night and watching girls dance like sluts? I thought that's what MTV was for.

I can easily do that in my own house if I want to. I don't need to get a cheaply made dress and pay to do so. I've always found other ways to express myself, so it's never really been that big of a deal.

Actually, I should go find my camera and film some things.

She knew from the start
Deep down in her heart
That she and Tommy were worlds apart,
But her Mother said never mind your part...
Is to be what you'll be.

Yeah, the part with the soap and beans and stuff coming out of the TV was kinda kooky. But the music was alright.

Don't you see though? That part was about commercialism! The marketing trying to come out and grab you and pull you in. They just want to sell you useless junk in order to get your money.

There was so much symbolism. It was just genius!

Not really my bag, I guess. I'm more of a straightforward kind of guy.

Like in Caddyshack? The dancing gopher totally symbolized the fact that dancing animals are hilarious. More my speed.

What, another dance? Didn't you post about having one like, a month ago?

This one's a "Welcome the New Year Dance" They have them all the time at the school. There probably is one every month. I try to put it out of my mind.

I'm pretty sure it's just a scheme to get more money from students. Why not? Charge people $20 to come to the cafeteria. All you have to pay is a band, and since they're probably unknown, it doesn't cost that much. Sounds like a great scam to me.

A school is just a corporation. Not that I'm saying an education isn't important. It is. They don't seem to care too much if people learn anything though.
