People don't really understand what they're saying sometimes. When you are asked how you distinguished yourself, answers like "I did a good job" and "I am still employed"... really... aren't what you want to be saying. At least you're saying it to the company that writes your resume, and not the place you want to work for?

I do some work as a consulting resume writer - company sends me client info, I send back resume, they send me edits, so on and so forth. Just Stumbled a page full of very pretty photos, but this sentence stood out:

Lyra was given a car from work to drive around over the weekend instead of her own. The assignment was to drop the gas bar from 100% to 90%. Unfortunately it is a SmartCar. We did errands today and even an extra unnecessary trip to Whole Foods and the bar HAS NOT BUDGED. Is this good or bad? Job not accomplished.... buuuut SmartCar proven extra

Lyra drove me all the way to Southcenter to have lunch at Sizzler, which is a place I remember going to a lot as a child. I still love their salad bar.
