...I know I'm about a year late to the party on this one, but are Teh Australian and I the only people in the world who didn't like Heath Ledger's Joker? I mean, good acting and all, just...not how I picture him. Aaron Eckhart, on the other hand, was exceptional. I should probably have rewatched Batman Begins first, though ( Read more... )

I don't see why anyone would want anyone to know anything about their relationship status. But I suppose if you're going to have it at all, there should be options to explain every eventuality. I certainly don't like the way some things I do on Facebook are reported.

However "X is no longer listed as being in a relationship" does actually mean "X is no longer displaying whether or not X is in a relationship".

True; but they use similar-enough (maybe even the same?) terminology when somebody changes status to reflect a relationship ending, making it easy to misinterpret a change.

So I suppose my issue is more with how they phrase the ending of a relationship than the no-longer-listed status.

That's also what I saw, and, well, assumed it meant what it said.

Facebook is stupid.

Had a similar issue a few weeks back. It is frustrating and probably done to try and scare us into keeping our details out there.

Happy to hear it's not as doom'n'gloom as FaceBorg made it look.
Come to think of it, you're not the first couple I know who've had the same happen and got a lot of friends concerned. It's a pretty stoopid system for something as intricate and personal as relationships.

I found Ledger's Joker to be well-written and competently performed but by no means the "masterpiece" many reviewers gave it, undoubtedly due to his untimely and unfortunate death.

I also found the film watchable but far too long and nowhere near as much fun as Batman Begins.

I haven't seen the new Batman film yet, but if it's anything like Batman Begins, I'll love and hate it. Loved it for the humour, and backgroundy bits, hated it for the stop 'n' start fight scenes that leave me feeling dizzy and totally unsure what was actually going on. Bring back the Bruce Lee days when they actually filmed fights from a distance in fewer shots, so you knew what the hell was happening, and could enjoy the action!

Actually, I had the same problem with the fight sequences; I really struggled to follow them a lot of the time, but I couldn't quite work out why that was!
