soooooo well written it's ridiculous :) I love it, love the angst and dark overtones, and you kept it all very in-character too despite the different genre that the show itself is in :) kudos! I'm gonna bookmark this and keep reading hee.

Thank you! (I'm glad you think it's in character, that's the biggest compliment I believe I can get!)

this is gorgeous. no need to apologise for worrying about the more serious tone/theme. as everyone's already said- it's a true facet of her character and since Show probably won't ever go there in a serious way, it's nice to find fic that does. I believe this is the first one I've ever read that does. as a matter of fact, I wanted MORE! a lovely ending, to be sure- that last paragraph is just. GAH. but if you were ever so inclined as to write a sequel, I can tell you I would be ALL OVER IT.

A sequel has occurred to me. (Mainly it's this image in my head of Annie going through withdrawal and Jeff holding her.) I think if I did it would involve the secrecy around them going off together (for meetings) and the group wondering what was going on. (Which they wouldn't figure out, not really.)

...you gave me a plot bunny. -_-

Loved this. You did a great job putting the characters in a serious situation. The show itself is all fun and light, but these characters have some really REALLY dark things in their past that don't get thoroughly explored because it's a comedy; but I love these facets of each character, and I love stories like these that explore them.

Thanks for sharing this!

This is so crazy good. Dark and very much in character for both of them. I loved that Jeff had done his research here and that he knows her well enough to know when something's wrong. The shippy stuff is lovely of course but above all I love how they're just such good friends. Really really good job with such a dark subject. Thank you for writing it.

I like the details--the lemon cough drops--that would totally be her. And the when it was revealed that Rich was her "dealer", I went, "Oh, forgot about him, but of course, that makes perfect sense." And the way Jeff handled it was just really cool and not overly dramatic.
