i hate winter

there are few things on or about this earth that i hate more than winter. lately i've been hearing a lot of people commenting about the beauty of fall because of the leaves changing colors, and i realized that fall only means winter is on the way. most of the leaves have already started to die and fall off, decomposing into waste, which parallels ( Read more... )

i remember the winter at tanglewood ... it is a depressing time of year, well, if you're living in a place that actually goes through the winter phase of freezing cold, winds and snow. however, i think that xmas is actually the one thing that saves us from the winter. its something to look forward to when its too cold and ugly to go outside and we need something to help cheer us up, make us feel alive again, etc. We were pretty lucky to get a holiday like xmas ... family getting together -- which may not always be fun, but still something -- people giving you a shitload of presents for NOT DOING A DAMN THING, etc etc, there are many other benefits but im sure you get the idea. the idea of you coming down here during the winter months is def a good one ... come, relax, we'll have a blast.

stay safe.

christmas, i don't know man. christmas has been more about guilt than joy for me in recent years. i'm 22 years old, i don't really want my family buying my presents for christmas or my birthday, because i'm too fucking broke to buy them anything in return. it was cute when we were kids and believed in santa claus, and then once we found out he was nothing but a hoax, it just became about being selfish and getting gifts. i don't think i'll really appreciate the holiday again until i can start giving instead of constantly receiving. i'll feel horribly guilty for everything i get this year; hopefully next year i can start to relive the joy of the christmas season ...
