So here's a tidbit about me: I love to sing. LOVE.

And I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Seriously. It bothers the cats when I sing. I work at a radio station with a bunch of music majors who sing around town in a professional capacity. When "Happy Birthday" singing time rolls around, I put myself in the listener group.

So I got a call this morning from the woman who cleans our house. She had emergency gallbladder surgery overnight. I told her to give me a call when she was back to her routine. But...I had the house tidied up a bit in preparation for her coming later in the day, so that's cool...vacuumed, did some spot steam cleaning, got the laundry done ( Read more... )

One of the freebies I can get is free tix to the Phil.    So tonight we went to one of the "Unplugged" concerts.  It's their attempt to be accesible, casual, less stuffy...all that good stuff, and all that stuff classical music needs if it is going to cultivate audience (and support) for the future.

I should really know by now that house projects take longer...scratch that, MUCH longer than you think they will.  Trim is mostly painted, but the stair risers aren't, since they need to be spackled and sanded.  The trim I didn't paint I couldn't reach.  STAIRWELLS ARE NO FUN.  Steve painted the ceiling, with much swearing.  And one paint pad full ( Read more... )
