It's, still just a concept but when keyboards like this become ubiquitous we may finally see the end of qwerty (and the beginning of all kinds of new UI). I've been waiting for this technology for about 10 years.
i think even more interesting will be this technology applied to devices like ipods, cell phones, car stereos and and the king of confusing buttons, tv/dvd emote controls!
that would be hella expensive, 100 tiny high-res color oled screens wired to support spring action, needing a serious cpu/memory/bandwidth for fast updating, built durable enough for daily use.. so what, maybe 4 years? $500?
its a pretty cool visual, but a true hacker shouldn't be looking at the keyboard anyway.. i'd prefer a single button hotkey that throws up a graphical keymap on screen for those brainfart moments..
would you also want your mouse to have little icons on the buttons too?
