There exists what I will refer to as a logic bridge that was erected within the past five or six years that I apparently didn't know about until recently.

It's not that all rich people are greedy, it's that all the rich people you hear about in the news are greedy. Unfortunately, the media don't report on the companies that do well...because that's not news. Even though I'm a crazy liberal, I agree with everything you've said. We should not punish those who work hard for the money. I would say, however, that we are a bit of a greedy nation. Would you not agree that people get angry at the rich because they, themselves, are so greedy and envy the rich that they are, in turn, jealous of their success? Does this not also define greed? I'm not trying to be a douche. I'm actually wondering what you think of this argument.

There are plenty of people out there that earn lots of money and are not perceived as greedy because we don't hear about the crazy shit that they've done with their money. Bernie Madoff has just given rich people a bad name recently because he's a douche. Now he is one greedy bastard.

Bernie Madoff needs to be shot in public.

Also, I completely agree with your point - I would go one step further and actually argue that the very same greed is motivating people to argue that "all rich people are greedy".
