this is so strong that i don't like it at all, so i say it's worth a try if you've been wanting something stronger

I find Tazo's Chai tea bags to be very strong - I like more of a weaker/sweeter chai tea.

I make my own chai mixes...it's actually pretty easy, though it does involve buying whole herbs (as compared to the pre-ground kind).

Basically fresh ginger (sliced or mashed), a couple cinnamon sticks, fennel seeds, some cloves, peppercorns, cardamom seeds, and of course whatever black tea you've got. You can also add a strip of orange or lemon peel, or some allspice, or whatever other spices you have laying around to make it your own. Heck, you could add a dried pepper (like a chipotle or something!) and make it REALLY spicy ;)

You just combine all ingredients, bring to a boil, let simmer a little while, and then strain.

I generally do it with milk, not water, and use honey as a sweetener...the classic Indian way, apparently, and incredibly delicious. But I'm guessing you could do it with water and get the same sort of flavor. You can make a big batch and keep it in the fridge.

I like Lupicia because they sell the ingredients separately, so you can control how spicy it is. They do, however, offer a deal on black tea and the spices to make the purchasing of the various things separately more affordable. They also have different varieties of spices available if you don't like one blend over another.

(The site's a little confusing the first time navigating, so I tried to save you the trouble:)

Trader Joe's has a spicy chai mix that you just add water to. Pretty good, I'm actually drinking a cup right now! :)
