I'm love, love, loving the BBC adaptation of Tess of the d'Ubervilles :D Everything is perfect...the casting, the scenery, the cinematography and the score. I've recently discovered the song that Tess, Marion and the others sing when they're working is called The Snow It Melts The Soonest and is an old Northumbrian folk song. It seems the older I get the more music affects me and seems to magnify the emotions I'm feeling at the time. I'm currently listening to a live version of High Hopes by Pink Floyd and it's making me want to run outside to the nearest open space, lie down and cry until I can't cry anymore. -

Hooray, I've booked my Bellowhead tickets for October :D And the new album is out in a few weeks!
For those of you not in the know, Bellowhead are an English folk big band who are possibly the best band I've ever seen live. They're not only all brilliant musicians but their performances are so energetic and upbeat that I come out grinning like a ( Read more... ) -

A fresh start
I've had the most wonderful day. I had a day off work and met up with a friend and spent the day at a spa and I'm feeling so totally relaxed it's quite unreal. They spa has steam rooms and a sauna and a plunge pool and an ice cave so there was lots of extremes of temperature and cleansing of toxins.
