Home Electricity Monitoring
I'm coteaching a class on Tuesday nights in which we're going to build smart power strips to monitor and control electrical loads. We'll be teaching soldering, a bit of arduino programming, and the perenial favorite, "how big is a kWh?" Starts 4 May. Please forward widely.

GreaseMonkey, OpenCourseWare
I took some time off from all the other yaks I've been shaving recently, and wrote a script to add prerequisites to OpenCourseWare. I don't think I understand the design of javascript, much less its xmlhttp objects. Anyhow, the script pulls prereqs from the course catalog. My plane leaves at 7am tomorrow. I have a taxi reservation and everything. Today was spent acquiring a multitude of things, from tools to playa gift goods, and visiting the Kalighat temple.
