They said it was a car accident, he was driving along when someone plowed into him. T-boned, I think they said. He lost a lot of blood, they told me. I was hanging out in a bookstore near my apartment-- I didn’t like to go too far from it, and this was a nice sanctuary that also meant I wouldn’t end up eating a really cheap quality hamburger or something like that.
