Tomorrow is Changmin’s birthday. He had originally anticipated a fun day out with them, but now it does not seem quite possible. The last celebration Changmin can recall with them is Christmas.

Last Christmas they had decided to play Secret Santa. (A.N.) While Jaejoong raised his eyebrows suggestively to anyone who would look at him, Changmin looked down at his tiny paper slip and wondered what he should get for Junsu, whose name was neatly printed on the sheet of white with black ink. Yunho’s handwriting, Changmin surmised. Always the serious leader who took it upon himself to write the name slips.

On Christmas Eve they revealed their identities and exchanged the much-anticipated presents. Changmin had finally decided to get Junsu a free buffet pass for a maximum of five people, just so he could go with whoever he wished (he secretly hoped it was with them). Food definitely suited Junsu. He had immediately waved the flimsy piece of paper in excitement whilst enveloping Changmin in a crushing but heart-warming hug. A fist bump won’t cut it this time, Junsu had squeaked, happiness and gratitude written all over his face. The night proceeded with a movie marathon until dawn. The five squeezed into a sofa meant for three, bowls of warm just-microwaved popcorn cradling between laps. One by one they had gradually drifted off, limbs tangling with each other, bodies huddling together for warmth.

The next morning they had woken up with sore necks and legs with bad blood circulation, but no one complained.

In Changmin’s opinion it had been the best Christmas, or holidays in general, ever.

After their disappearance, Changmin returns to his daily routine. Needless to say life lost its sparkle, but life wasn’t exactly showered with rainbows and unicorns either, he has essays to hand in and a degree to pursue.

That night, his messenger beeped for the first time since they walked out of his life.

Author's Note: For anyone who doesn't know, secret santa is a game where a group of people are randomly and anonymously assigned to be the "secret santa" of another person in the group. Then they give presents and they can reveal their identities as well if they want:P
Sorry for the continued angst I promise it will be happier next chapter:3
Gah I'm really tired now I have a whole new level of respect for writer who come up with ten thousand word updates every day;__;
Comments, criticisms and suggestions are highly welcome!!
