I have arrived at the armpit of america and I am absolutely miserable. I can't hear in one ear and I think my sinus cavity may explode.

and now I am sick. ears, nose and throat. Yay.

Tomorrow evening I will be boarding the dread Continental Airlines to head back east to see family and friends. I have a 3 1/2 hour layover in Newark. Not. Looking. Forward. To. That. Boo California. Boo.

Our little rattie, Denver, died yesterday. He waited until Josh came home and passed about 20 minutes later. He had been a little sick the previous week, but had seemed to be bouncing back on Monday. He was moving around and eating like crazy and had cleaned himself. I guess it was his last little burst of life.

We'll miss him terribly.
