Was re-eading Ellen Kushner's mannerpunk Swordspoint last night (wonderful book that ages well), and took to wondering how the characters in the book look. I like the old hardback cover of the windblown swordsman - who I'd always taken to be St Vier - but on rereading the book, I came to feel that Richard St Vier has a much more ( Read more... )

Gorgeous - perfect style for Richard, really. If Alec drew him (if Alec could draw) this is what it would look like.

Er - would you mind if I attempted to icon-ize this? I'd love to have a Swordspoint-specific icon...

This reminds me of the illustrations in some old fairy tale collections that I used to have, very French-Italian romantic in style. I love the modelling of his lips, in particular. *smiles*
